Soft Christmas music played through the house as Maddie hung up another part of the string of tinsel she had wrapped around her arm.  As she put up the red glittery tinsel, she couldn't help but think about the holiday.  She had been asked countless times what she wanted and she did give the people that asked a list.  However, it wasn't a complete list since there was one more thing she wanted that she wouldn't get.  Well someone would be more accurate.

"And that was a classic we all know and love," The overly cherry DJ on the radio announced, making her smile lightly at how forced it all sounded.

"Next up we have a new song that people keep asking for, so to keep them quiet here it is," That line made her laugh out loud as she finished putting up the red tinsel and grabbing the silver and heading to another wall.

The song that started playing was one of those remakes of a old, good song that wasn't all that bad.  She had got three half loops up with the tinsel when the object of her thoughts came in, shaking snow off his clothes.

"Woo its cold out there," Darry smiled and brushed all the snow out of his hair, before it dampened it any more.

"I can tell, now close the door, I WAS warm thank you," She smiled, turning back to what she was doing so he wouldn't see the blush that ran across her cheeks.  He looked really cute covered in snow.

"Anything you need help with?" He asked and there was a thunk as his boot were taken off and dropped.

"Umm, could you put the holly and bells on the up points of the tinsel please?"

Darry smiled and grabbed the little silver bells and holly and started putting them up.  Yesterday Darry had helped her and her parents put up their tree, well mostly him since her mom always wanted a huge tree.  They had completely decorated it and it looked amazing, even if Darry did make her squeal when he picked her up so she could put the star on top of it.  Today her parents were out so she was in charge of putting up the rest of the stuff, so naturally Darry offered to come over and help.

"Well now that, that's out of the way, here comes our next song for all you looking for love teens," The DJ announced.

As the first few bars of the song started playing Maddie had to resist rolling her eyes and groaning.  Of all the Christmas songs they could have played it had to be All I want for Christmas is you.

Grabbing the green tinsel a little harder than necessary, she went about putting it up, jumping lightly when she heard Darry start to sing along to the song.  Putting the decoration up slowly, she fought to hear his angelic voice, since he was singing so low.

As the song came to a close, Darry turned to her, having finished putting up the bells and holly. "What do you want me to do now?"

"Uhm the stockings need to be hung up," She said, grabbing the small wreaths that were in one of the boxes and looking for where they would work.

Darry just nodded again and grabbed the big red sock that read the names of her family and hung them in a row.  Deciding that the wreaths would look best up above the arches, she grabbed the step later and put them where they best fit.

Another hour or so pressed on as they hung the rest of the little odds and ends, then when they were done, Darry took the boxes and put them away.  As he walked back, Maddie was looking around the room.

"Well I don't think we did that bad of a job, what do you say?" She asked, looking over at him.

"Nope, not at all, we thought of everything and so did your parents,"

She gave him an odd look. "What do you mean, they didn't help with anything but the tree,"

"If you would look up I think you would see what I meant,"

She looked at him odd again for a second then looked above her head and a hot blush ran across her features.

"Mistletoe, why did they put up mistletoe?" She mumbled and looked back down.

"It's a nice tradition and I think it should be carried through," He smiled.

"You don't have to, its just a little plant,"

Darry stepped close to her and put his hands on her hips lightly.

"What if I want to?"

Maddie's mouth popped open lightly and Darry leaned forward and kissed her lips softly.  She gasped a little and put her hands on his shoulders, pressing back against his lips lightly, nervous but at the same time content.

Darry pulled back a little and looked down into her eyes, smiling a little and wrapping his arms around her waist.  She put her arms around his neck and pressed her lips back to his, feeling more confident this time.  Maddie could feel the smile on his lips as he kissed back, holding her as close as he could.

When the broke apart to take a breath, Darry put his forehead to hers.

"Merry early Christmas, Maddie,"

"Does that make you my present?"

"If you want,"

"Then I got everything I wanted for Christmas and its only the 15th,"

He smiled and pressed his lips back to hers.
